Bottomline Health LLC

Welcome to

We are a provider of Physical Therapy and Health Coaching in the Sauk Valley Area with a specialty in Pelvic Health.

The idea for Bottomline Health began out of a desire to fill a void. There is very little support for people who are having pelvic health issues or for education to prevent pelvic health issues. Countless times people have expressed “I wish I had known this sooner” and “why has no one ever told me this before?”

The unfortunate truth is that our society talks very little about pelvic health. We have normalized with a giggle “don’t make me pee” and we have all seen how many ads there are for incontinence, constipation and many other pelvic health issues.

We don’t share with others that we have pain during intimacy. We don’t talk about our incontinence of urine with our friends and we, certainly, don’t talk about fecal matter.

This puts us in a very lonely, isolated place. It can affect our willingness to go places, cause problems with our partners and even limit some of the things we are able to do at home.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Pregnancy can create a whole host of issues. Our bodies change so quickly, and the hormones affect us mentally and physically.

Physically, our circulation increases, our bladder has less room to expand, our joints become more flexible and our center of gravity changes to name a few.

We may have pain in our joints as our body changes and prepares for birth. We may have trouble having a bowel movement or some urinary incontinence.

Then we have a baby. Mostly, focus is on the baby. They receive numerous visits to the doctor and mom usually gets one at six weeks where she is released to resume intercourse and a discussion about birth control is given.

It is rare that mom is given information on how to progress exercise, what to do if intercourse is painful or if there is incontinence when she does certain activities.

Pelvic Rehabilitation can help. There is a mountain of research in this growing field. It is not just about Kegels. Health in general is important. Movement is important. And knowledge, well, that is power.

At Bottomline Health, we look at you. All of you. We assess your movement, strength, posture and more. We can help you prepare you for the process of labor and birth. We can teach you how to progress exercise postpartum and what to do if intercourse is painful following the birth of your child. We can educate you on the relationship of these things as it relates to your pelvic health and help you find solutions without, or in conjunction with, medications and surgical interventions. We hope to empower and enable you to take better control of your pelvic health for you currently and in the future.
